The story behind diaperoo
As a father of three children who is actively involved in family life, buying diapers is part of the routine. You come home from work to pick up the kids from daycare, firmly intending to do the shopping – but the kids are in a bad mood. So you postpone the whole thing or pass the task on to the other parent. Sometimes you're just overloaded and don't have the capacity. There are always situations that stop you from:
- buying diapers or getting the shopping done at all.
- taking care of discounts via the dm or Rossmann app in time.
With kids, it's always exciting, there's always something going on, and things rarely go according to plan. This requires a lot of discipline – from yourself, but also from the children. You simply can't expect that at the age when they normally (still) need diapers. You can try to teach it to them – leadership isn't a skill everyone possesses either – but even then, there are simply no guarantees.
To make my life easier, I came up with the idea of launching diaperoo. I've been carrying this idea around with me for years. My youngest child is now 2 years old and will probably be out of diapers – at least during the day – by 2026. Thanks to many new technological possibilities, I am only now getting around to finally tackling this project.
Anyway, I hope this site helps other parents with their diaper planning. It's definitely better to buy big and in bulk than often and in small quantities – it's worth it. Especially when the boxes are delivered directly to your front door. A small side note: We live on the 4th floor without an elevator. Lugging children and groceries upstairs can be a real challenge – but sometimes you can just make things easier for yourself.
Best regards,
H
